  • As of Dec. 1, 2019, we will no longer accept submissions of the report of Unclaimed Motor Vehicles (LT-260) and Notice of Intent to Sell Vehicle (LT-262) together.​

Instructions

  • Step 1: Submit only the Report of Unclaimed Motor Vehicles (LT-260).​

  • Step 2: Wait to receive Notification Letter (LT-160B). Once you receive the LT-160B, continue to Step 3.

  • Step 3: Submit payment and Notice of Intent to Sell Vehicle (LT-262).

  • FRAUDULENT OR LATE FORMS MAY RESULT IN CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

  • INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER FOR CORRECTION PRIOR TO PROCESSING.​​​​

  • Do not submit mopeds via this LT-260 form, NCDMV does not process them as unclaimed vehicles. For more information about mopeds, see NCDMV's moped page.
