The Craven County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a joint effort amongst the Down East Rural Planning Organization (DERPO), New Bern Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (NBAMPO), Craven County, City of New Bern, City of Havelock, Town of Bridgeton, Town of Dover, Town of Cove City, Town of River Bend, Town of Trent Woods, Town of Vanceboro, and NCDOT – Transportation Planning Division. A CTP is a multimodal transportation plan, which identifies transportation deficiencies and provides recommendations to be implemented within a 25-30 year timeframe. The Craven County CTP was adopted by Town of Cove City on December 6, 2022, Town of Dover on November 1, 2022, City of Havelock on January 23, 2023, Town of Vanceboro on November 7, 2022, and New Bern MPO on January 26, 2023. The Craven County Commissioners adopted the Stokes County CTP on October 3, 2022, and Down East RPO endorsed the CTP on January 31, 2023. The North Carolina Board of Transportation mutually adopted the Craven County CTP on May 4, 2023.
