    The Randolph County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a joint effort between Randolph County, the Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization, and the NCDOT – Transportation Planning Branch. CTP committee was created comprising of representatives from all municipalities, NC DOT, and the Piedmont Triad RPO. The plan is based on an analysis of existing and projected travel and land use, public involvement and field investigations of recommended improvements. The municipalities adopted the plan on the following days: The City of Asheboro on September 9, 2010; the Town of Franklinville on September 14, 2010; the Town of Liberty on September 27, 2010; the Town of Ramseur on September 13, 2010; the City of Randleman on September 7, 2010; the Town of Seagrove on September 7, 2010; and the Town of Staley on September 14, 2010. This was followed up by the endorsement by the Piedmont Triad RPO on December 15, 2010. The Transportation Planning Branch recommended the plan to the NC Board of Transportation on December 17, 2010. The NC Board of Transportation adopted the Randolph County CTP on January 6, 2011.
