As part of Federal and state funding, participation in natural disasters is an expectation for receiving agencies. This participation includes developing a relationship with your County Emergency Management Services and to become members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Annual Planning: Annual planning starts with an agreement with your County Emergency Management. This agreement should include hourly billing rates for transportation with on‐duty and off‐duty rates.
Advisory Board Participation: The Emergency Management representative is strongly encouraged to attend at least one Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) meeting per year to offer advice and develop a strong working relationship with the Board.
Inclusion in System Safety Plan: Standard Operating Procedures to be included in System Safety Plan that keeps the doors open and potentially moves dispatching functions to the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Communications with the Integrated Mobility Division (IMD): All changes in service delivery must be reported to IMD in a timely fashion for inclusion in daily reporting to Federal and state emergency response teams.
Emergency Operations Preparedness Procedures: These procedures should be in place and ready for response. NCDOT’s Expectations are included in Attachment 2001‐1.
