A Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) for Greene County is currently being developed. This study involves a detailed analysis of the Greene County transportation system, including roadway, rail, bicycle, pedestrian and transit facilities. The goal of the study is to produce a long range transportation plan for Greene County, assisting local governments and the public with transportation decisions over the next 25 to 30 years. The Greene County CTP is a cooperative effort between representatives of Greene County, the municipalities of Hookerton, Walstonburg and Snow Hill, the Eastern Carolina Rural Planning Organization and the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The CTP process encourages public involvement and will include a transportation survey and meetings open to the public. It is currently under study, and more information will be posted here as it becomes available.
