Project Location: I-40 in Guilford County to I-95 in either Cumberland or Harnett County, incl. US 421 and NC 87
Project Description: Corridor K is identified as one of North Carolina Strategic Transportation Corridors (STC). It is an important regional connector serving the Piedmont and Coastal Plains regions from I-40 in Guilford County through Sanford in Lee County to US 117 in Wilmington and New Hanover County. Phase I of Corridor K extends from I-40 in Guilford County, following US-421, NC-24, and NC-87 south, terminating at I-95. As part of the study, alternatives will be developed and analyzed for the portion of the corridor that connects NC Highway 87 in Sanford south to I-95 in either Cumberland or Harnett Counties.
