HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The Permit Office will be CLOSED on Thursday, July 4, 2024
No travel for overwidth, overheight or overlength permitted vehicle/vehicle
combinations or vehicle combinations with a gross weight exceeding 112,000
lbs will be authorized on North Carolina highways from noon Wednesday July 3,
2024 until noon Friday, July 5, 2024.
Generally a permit is required if:
- weight exceeds legal weight by NC law,
- total width is over 8'6",
- overall height is greater than 14',
- a single vehicle is over 40' or vehicle combination is over 60' in length, or (Exception: truck tractor/53-foot semi-trailer combination with no overall length limitation is allowed on all roads).
