• Introduction

    The NCDOT Public Street Information Database Map (HB620) is a web map to convey the ownership and/or maintenance status of roads within North Carolina. NCDOT maintains approximately 80 percent of public roadways in the state.

    State owned roads with road numbers are designated as:
    • Interstates
    • U.S. routes
    • N.C. routes
    • Secondary routes (SRs)​
    • Rest Areas
    • Other NC state agency owned roads

    Non-State owned roads include:

    • Federal owned routes
    • Non-state owned / Non-federal owned routes - (i.e. private, municipal, etc.)

  • How to Interact with the Map

    • Zoom in to see more road details
    • Zoom out to see fewer road details
    • Click on any road for more information
    • Change the base map to remove imagery (**note – data in base maps are from third party sources)
    • From mobile devices, zoom to your location if GPS is enabled​
    • Click on View larger map and then View for the best Search Option

This includes errors of omission, commission, errors concerning the content of the data, and relative and positional accuracy of the data. This data cannot be construed to be a legal document. Primary sources from which this data was compiled must be consulted for verification of information contained in this data.
