Issues: Single span bridge with 36” steel plate girders; girders were not cambered properly cambered and are sagging Action Item: Ensure proper use of the NCSU deflection spreadsheet for steel girders; the deflections due to the slab should be input as inches; the designer input these deflections as feet, which were internally divided by 12 again Issues: Gutter system installed on the overhangs near the ends of the bridge; the downspout of the gutter has eroded the soil in front of the cap at End Bent 2 (on North side of bridge) Action Item: Contact maintenance crew to fill eroded hole
