    Attention:

    General Assembly's House Bill 199 increased the Annual Oversize/Overweight General Commodity permit fee to $185.  This new fee will be applied to Annual General Commodity permits starting August 1, 2024.

    **This new fee does not apply to Manufactured Home or Frames for Manufactured Home annual permits.

    ​​​Generally a permit is required if:

    • weight exceeds legal weight by NC law,
    • total width is over 8'6",
    • overall height is greater than 14',
    • a single vehicle is over 40' or vehicle combination is over 60' in length, or (Exception: truck tractor/53-foot semi-trailer combination with no overall length limitation is allowed on all roads).
