  • Shop Drawings

  • ​Shop Drawings consist of working or fabrication drawings pertaining to equipment or materials used in construction that will require review prior to installation or fabrication. Examples include the following:

    • Steel and/or pre-cast concrete beam drawings
    • Signal equipment
    • Culvert drawings
    • Pile hammer/driving tables
    • Pedestrian bridges/boardwalks
    • Retaining wall designs

    Procedure

    • ​The Contractor submits shop drawings to the Local Government Agency (LGA)
    • The LGA has information reviewed by Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI)/Engineer of Record (EOR) to be either approved or approved as noted, prior to submittal to NCDOT
    • The LGA submits the Shop Drawings through the Enterprise Business Services (EBS) Portal under Document Type “CON_Working/Shop Drawings”

    • ​NCDOT will review the decision of the CEI/EOR for compliance with NCDOT’s specifications, standards, and policies​​
