• Plan Information

    Bicyclist crossing a bridge.

The Plan Update option is for communities with existing bicycle and/or pedestrian transportation plans that are at least 5 years old. Plan Updates are recommended where the community has experienced significant new development, population growth, or other key changes to the demands of their bike-ped infrastructure network. Significant implementation progress on existing plans may also justify the need for a Plan Update for communities to re-evaluate the remaining priorities and strategy.

Plan Updates will bring existing plans into concurrence with IMD content standards of bicycle and/or pedestrian plans, even when the existing plan was not funded through the Multimodal Planning Program. The content standards for the Plan Update are the same for the Bicycle and/or Pedestrian Network Plan options, although the Plan Update is expected to have a shorter turnaround time and less consultant costs (and local match).
