The Project Closeout process consists of receiving acceptance of the project from all participating agencies, including agreement of the final dollar value of the contract, and completion of all remaining contract requirements. This process ultimately leads to the final payment and release of the Contractor from further responsibility for the project. It also initiates several additional processes that include closing the project in NCDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) project tracking and financial systems.
For detailed steps and example forms, letters and worksheets, please review the Locally Administered Project (LAP) Closeout Process Checklist.
