2024 ITS and Signals Qualified Products List:
The ITS and Signals Qualified Products List (ITSS QPL) contains traffic signal equipment and material standards that are approved for use on contract projects on the North Carolina State Highway System. Although this list is generally valid for NCDOT projects, the project specific Project Special Provisions may be more restrictive than this list. NOTE: Please use the 2018 ITSS QPL for all Projects stating the 2018 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures as the governing specification over Traffic Signal equipment and installation. Use the 2024 ITSS QPL for all Projects stating the 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures as the governing specification over Traffic Signal equipment and installation.
Finding Qualified Products:
Online Version: search the online ITSS QPL database using one or more of the following criteria
-Group
-Manufacturer
-Approved Applications (The number in this column represents the specific construction method or methods in Division 17 of the Standard Specifications that the product can be applied).

A list can be generated by copying ITSS QPL information directly from the downloaded Excel spreadsheet. Please list the following information for each equipment or material item. The project Bid Line Item Number may be typed or legibly hand written.

The 2024
Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures will be the governing specification over traffic signal equipment beginning with the
January 2024 letting. All signal and traffic management systems equipment, material, and hardware submitted for use on these projects must be pre-approved and on the 2024 ITS and Signals Qualified Products List by the day of installation.
Equipment, materials, and hardware not on the 2024 ITSS QPL will not be allowed for use on these projects unless otherwise called for by the Project Special Provisions over that project.
The Signals and Intelligent Transportation Systems Material section
(Section 1098 of Materials - Division 10 ) and the Signals and Intelligent Transportation Systems Construction Methods section
(Division 17) of the 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures can be viewed at the link above. A copy of the latest ITSSU Special Provisions can be downloaded from the Special Provisions link above. Users should be aware that the Special Provisions are specifications in addition to the 2024 Standard Specifications and may be updated monthly. You should download a new copy every month to ensure that you are using the most up-to-date specification.
Please note that a specific project's plans or Project Special Provisions may place additional restrictions on the equipment which can be supplied and may therefore invalidate QPL products.
