Title VI refers to a document developed by an FTA recipient to demonstrate how the recipient is complying with Title VI requirements. IMD's subrecipients must submit their updated Title VI Program documents to IMD every three years. The Title VI Program must be approved by the subrecipient's board of directors or appropriate governing entity or official(s) responsible for policy decisions prior to submission to IMD. A Title VI Plan with complaint procedures and information regarding methods for serving and involving Limited English proficient individuals is required. Subrecipients will notify transit passengers and the public in general of the protections afforded them under Title VI.
