NCDOT-IMD, in collaboration with NCDHHS, are currently collaborating on a plan to assist local transit agencies in providing rides to COVID-19 vaccinations.

On December 29th, 2020 the FTA posted a new Frequently Asked Question (CE18) regarding eligibility of transportation services to COVID-19 vaccination sites on its website that covers the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and ER funding requirements.  Key to the new guidance is the following statement:

CARES Act and Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 Funds
CARES Act and Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 funding may be used to cover operating expenses for any public transportation service to COVID-19 vaccination sites at a 100-percent federal share.

    Reporting

As the effort to help provide transportation to vaccine sites gets underway, tracking the amounts of trips, miles traveled, riders taken to vaccine sites and amount of DHHS CARES money used to complete this effort could not be more important.  We have created a data entry tool that will allow you to submit both your data and your DHHS claim documentation together or separately.

You will need to make your entries on a weekly basis for period ranging from Saturday through the next Friday.  However, if you have not reported for a previous week, please do as soon as you can.  The due dates for the weekly report are as follows:

    • Data -  submitted by Close of Business every Tuesday.
    • DHHS Claims - turn in your DHHS claims as soon as you can.
