• Asset management aided through vegetation management/ zoysiagrass along NC roadsides

    NCDOT Research Project Number: 2013-17

Executive Summary

  • Effective vegetation management along roadsides requires the integration of adapted turfgrass species coupled with appropriate plant and pest management practices. Currently, there are products as well as turfgrass species and cultivars that have not been fully explored and may be well suited for vegetation management along North Carolina (NC) roadsides. In summary, this research is needed to assess current vegetation management practices along NC roadsides and determine if new turfgrass species or products may enhance the end product while increasing motorist and transportation worker safety.
