This
project uses Roadway Reviews and Focus Groups to gain insight into how North
Carolina residents assess and prioritize roadway assets. During a three-week
period in November 2015, researchers from the Institute for Transportation
Research and Education (ITRE) surveyed more than 350 residents in six locations
across the state (Asheville, Burlington, Charlotte, Jonesville, Rocky Mount,
and Wilmington) during both daytime and nighttime hours to determine
expectations for the condition of NC roadways and to identify features that NC
residents think are the most important on different types of roadways.
