"Freight & Logistics Webinar Registration"

From the big-rig to the Amazon delivery truck, freight is everywhere if you look for it!

Efficient freight transportation is foundational to our way of life. Whether planning for an urban or rural environment, it’s important to understand how freight behaves. NCDOT’s Office of Logistics + Freight provides subject-matter expertise and analytical resources to practitioners in all stages of project delivery from planning through construction.

Please join NC DOT and NCPTA for November’s Webinar session with Dana Magliola, Sr. Supply Chain Analyst from the NCDOT Office of Logistics + Freight, for an informative “Planning for Freight” Webinar session.  The presentation features information about planning resources provided and supported by the Office of Logistics + Freight, as well as discussions about potential collaborations with transit.  To view, please click on the following links:

"Making the Affordable Housing and Public Transportation Connection" Presentation

This session focuses on the connection between Public Transportation and Affordable Housing.  We explored the notion that public investment in new public transportation infrastructure is usually met with private investment capitalizing on the new market potential without voluntary regard to lower income populations that need to live close to their primary access to opportunities.

Transportation Planners, Land Use Planners and Policy Makers have begun to attempt to take inclusive stances across the nation, especially with approving Transit-Oriented Development.  However, are there more pro-active approaches that should take place?

This webinar took place on Thursday September 12th at 2pm.  If you missed it, you can still learn more about equitable solutions that can help shape your community’s future by watching the recording of the presentation.
