The Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a multimodal transportation plan. During the CTP process, the area’s future transportation needs are determined, and recommendations are provided for a 25-30 year timeframe. This plan is a joint effort between the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). The process involved local government officials, planning staff, and the public. The CTP was adopted by the DCHC MPO on May 10, 2017 and by the NC Board of Transportation (NCBOT) on August 3, 2017. ***The DCHC MPO is proposing to amend the segment of Farrington Road from Falconbridge Road Extension to Southwest Durham Drive in the current CTP. The future four-lane divided cross-section in the CTP would become a two-lane cross-section with bicycle and pedestrian facilities. See the document in the Public Involvement tab for details.*** For other CTP information, click on “DCHC MPO Comprehensive Transportation Plan” link on the right of this page for the DCHC MPO’s CTP webpage.
