    ​ Strategic Transportation Corridors (STC)
    ​The Strategic Transportation Corridors identify a network of critical multimodal transportation corridors considered the backbone of North Carolina’s transportation system.

  • Our Core Functions:

    • Research, forecasting, and scenario planning. 
    • Federal and state policy development support, particularly related to revenue and funding. 
    • Discretionary grant strategy and pursuits. 
    • Strategic planning, goal setting, and performance management.  
    • Statewide long-range transportation planning. 
    • Management of clean transportation programs, including CMAQ, CRP, and NEVI. 
    • Rural and small planning organization technical assistance. 
    • Facilitation of cross-departmental initiatives, programs, and projects. 
    • Value engineering, constructability reviews, and post-construction assessments. 
    • Management of innovation, knowledge, quality and risk management programs. 
    • ​Data and technology strategy and governance.

    ​NCDOT strategies, decisions, and actions are optimized to meet performance targets aligned with a transportation vision that is informed by data, research, customer feedback, and employee input.​

    ​Utilize data, research, and input from agency leaders, customers, and partners to facilitate agency visioning, long-range planning, performance target setting, cross-departmental strategic initiatives, and program and project management. ​
