This plan is a joint effort between the Greater Hickory MPO, Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba Counties and NCDOT. During the CTP and MTP process the area’s future transportation needs have been determined and solutions have been recommended. Alternative modes of transportation have also been studied. The process involved local government officials and the public. The MTP and CTP were mutually adopted by the Greater Hickory MPO on July 23, 2023. Currently, the GHMPO is in the process of being submitted to the NC Board of Transportation for an April 2nd, 2026 adoption. More information will be posted here as it becomes available.
