This Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) study is a long range plan, which identifies major transportation improvement needs and develops long term solutions for the next 25 to 30 years. It is a joint effort between the Robbinsville, Lake Santeetlah, Fontana Dam, Graham County, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), and the Southwestern Rural Planning Organization (RPO). \r\nThe Graham County CTP is part of a year-long process in the Southwestern RPO region being led by the consultant firm TSW out of Atlanta. TSW will lead the development of a regional vision, comprehensive plans for Cherokee and Graham Counties, and the Graham County CTP. Arcadis is the sub consultant leading the CTP efforts for TSW. The CTP study involves both government officials and the public in an effort to determine the area’s future transportation needs based on the best information available including, but not limited to, population, economic conditions, traffic trends and patterns of land development throughout the county. The study will include alternative modes of transportation (i.e.: highway, bicycle, pedestrian, public transportation and rail). \r\n
