The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has developed Environmental Justice (EJ) and Transportation Disadvantage Index (TDI) maps and interactive dashboards to help NCDOT staff and external partners understand and visualize transportation disadvantage and the disproportionate impact of transportation barriers on communities of color, as well as help inform policies, planning, and project development decision making.
