The Camden Currituck Pasquotank Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CCP CTP) is a collaborative, long-range transportation plan developed to establish a unified vision for future transportation needs across Camden, Currituck, and Pasquotank Counties.

This study is a joint effort between Camden County, Currituck County, Pasquotank County, the Albemarle Rural Planning Organization (ARPO), the City of Elizabeth City, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), in coordination with local municipalities throughout the region. As a special regional initiative, this CTP will integrate transportation priorities across county lines, fostering regional consensus and coordination. In addition, this CTP includes a pioneering Resilience Study aimed at identifying roadways vulnerable to anticipated weather-related impacts and recommending practical, data-driven strategies to enhance long-term system resilience and safety.

Currently there is a steering committee meeting every month or so to develop and complete the CTP and the study is ongoing. An online public input survey ran from September 17th, 2025 through October 7th, 2025 to collect information from the public.

The Bertie County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a strategic, long-range initiative designed to identify key transportation improvement needs and develop forward-looking solutions for the next 25 to 30 years. This collaborative effort brings together Bertie County, its municipalities, the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Transportation Planning Division (NCDOT TPD), and the Peanut Belt Rural Planning Organization (PBRPO).

The planning process actively involves both local government officials and community members to ensure the CTP reflects the county’s future transportation needs. This is based on the most current and comprehensive data available, including population growth, economic trends, traffic patterns, and land development. In addition to roadway improvements, the plan also addresses multimodal transportation options such as bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and public transit.

A previous version of the CTP was jointly adopted in 2012 by the NC Board of Transportation. Since then, significant updates have been made. Over the past two years, a steering committee—made up of representatives from local towns, NCDOT, PBRPO, and Bertie County—has conducted detailed engineering analyses and developed recommendations to guide future transportation planning. The updated CTP is now in the final stage of adoption. It has been adopted by all eight towns and endorsed by the PBRPO. It still in draft form while awaiting adoption from the North Carolina Board of Transportation.
