NCDOT Division of Aviation is kicking off a Drone Workshop Series in North Carolina for public safety agencies. The purpose of the free workshops are to educate agencies on the safe and beneficial uses of drones. 08:30am – 09:30am Check-in, on spot registration & UAS showcase
09:30am – 10:45am Scenario based UAS flight demo
NCDOT Division of Aviation & NC Public Safety Drone Academy is going all in to provide a unique scenario based flight experience. If weather permitting the scenarios planned are search for escaped convict, structure fire at cotton gin, missing Alzheimer's patient, etc.
11.00am – 12.00pm Federal and State perspective panel
This panel will review the current regulatory environment and examine the process of establishing a UAS program within your public safety organization
12.00pm – 1.00pm Lunch and networking
No workshop is enjoyed without some good BBQ
1.00pm – 3.00pm Public Safety Agency Presentations
There will be an exciting line up of presentations from public safety agencies like NCDPS, NCSHP, etc. who are currently using UAS in their current operations. There will also be new software and technology presentations that could be beneficial to public safety agencies
3.00pm – 5.00pm Drone ground class 101 (Separate registration)
Participants attending the class will learn the qualifications and topic study areas necessary to pass the FAA Part 107 and NC UAS Permit.
