  • Existing Geospatial Data

    ​This is the hub for NCDOT Project Managers and Resident Engineers, and other NCDOT staff to learn about different Geospatial Data the Photogrammetry Unit and other state agencies can provide. This includes self-service tools and making direct requests to the Photogrammetry Unit if additional assistance is needed.​

  • NC Statewide Orthoimagery

    ​Since 2010, the North Carolina 911 Board has funded the collection and production of high resolution orthoimagery for North Carolina. Approximately a quarter of the state is flown each year and used as a mission critical tool for emergency planning and response. The imagery is also made freely available to the public and commonly used in a number of public and private applications, including engineering, urban and regional planning, economic development, environmental assessment, and land surveying. ​​ ​Read More​​

  • NC Statewide LiDAR Elevation Data

    ​North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) Risk Management Office in coordination with NC Department of Transportation and other partners have acquired NC PLS certified statewide Quality Level 1 (QL1) and Quality Level 2 (QL2) aerial LiDAR​ for the entire state​. The NCDOT Photogrammetry Unit has downloaded the bare earth QL1 and QL2 LiDAR data and has created two Geodatabases. One database contains the classified bare earth data; the other database contains a 10-foot DEM created from the classified bare earth data.  Read More​​

  • NC Statewide County GIS Property Data

    ​The State of North Carolina developed an online tool for integrating parcel boundaries from county sources. The "NC Parcels Transformer" translates parcel d​ata from all 100 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians into a data set with standard data fields for display and analysis across county boundaries. The NCDOT Photogrammetry Unit has developed an ArcGIS program that allows the unit to import the GIS property data and export it to into the MicroStation dgn format for use with NCDOT project design.  Read More​​
