About the County Map
NCDOT County Maintenance Maps are generated and distributed as one file per county (i.e., County Map Set). In each, the first sheet provides an overview map of the county at a scale of 1:126,720. Supplemental sheets show areas with state-maintained roads at a scale of 1:31,680 (or in some cases, 1:15,840). One Sheet maps combine all the county's 1:31,680 and 1:15,840 scale map content into a single page in a “Layered" PDF. Also, “Layered" PDF versions of map sheets are available from our GONC PDF lookup web map.
